関金温泉　（せきがねおんせん）

 

関金温泉は開湯して約1300年の歴史があります。

 

かつては宿場町でもあったため、往来する人々や旅の疲れをとろうと、温泉で体を休めました。

 

一度滞在すれば立ち去るのが惜しくなるほどの泉質はいまでも変わっていません。

 

透き通ったお湯は「白金の湯」とも称されてきました。

 

美肌美容はもちろんのこと、生活習慣病などの予防・治療や健康維持に有益されているラドンを多く含有し、「ホルミシス効果」（ラドンを呼吸で肺に取り込むことで全身に浸透。）の作用があるようです。

 

平成２３年には「日本の名湯１００選」の一つとして選ばれました。

 

日帰り温泉施設や足湯などもあることで、日々慌ただしく過ごしている私たちに、「思い立ったら温泉に」というチャンスをいつでも持たせてくれるのです。

 

温泉の開湯には伝説がつきものですが、関金には諸説あるそうです。

 

伝説　タンチョウヅルによる発見

 

その昔、関金のとある集落に、鳥好きの弥兵衛という男がいました。

 

弥兵衛はたいそう鳥が好きで、様々な種類の鳥を飼っていたそうです。

 

ある朝、２羽のタンチョウヅルが飛んでいるのを発見し、きっとどこかに巣があるに違いないと追いかけていきました。

 

ようやく２羽の鶴を探し当て、こっそりと様子をうかがっていると、岩場に戻ってきたり、また岩向こうを降りたりを繰り返しています。

 

もう少し近づいてみると、なんと、、、

 

ゴボゴボト音を立てて湯が湧き出ているではありませんか！

 

どうやら、ツルは足を痛めていたようで、足をひたしては、治癒していたようです。

 

慌てて村に帰った弥兵衛は、このことをみなに知らせたそうです。

 

宿場町としても知られた関金は、往来する旅人たちにとって旅の疲れを癒す地となり、関金温泉として愛されるようになったのです。

 

 

【英語】Sekigane Hot Spring

Sekigane Hot Spring has enjoyed a 1,300-long history since it was first discovered. Sekigane was once a lodging town where visitors and travelers could relieve their tired body and relax in the hot spring. It is said that the quality of the hot spring remains the same and it is so good that you never want to leave once you arrive. As the hot spring water is clear and transparent, it is also referred to as “platinum hot spring”.

 

Without a doubt, this hot spring water helps you attain beautiful skin. It is also believed to serve as a form of therapy, called the hormesis effect, that helps maintain one’s health and protect the body from lifestyle-related illnesses due to its high radon content (radon can be fully absorbed by breathing the mist into your lungs). In 2011, it was selected as one of “The Best 100 Hot Springs in Japan”.

 

There are also daytime hot spring and foot bathing facilities that help you get away from your busy lifestyle, even for a short time, and enjoy a dip anytime when you get the chance.

  

 It is said that there are several legends in Sekigane that concern the origin of this hot spring.

 

The Legend of the Red-Crowned Crane Discovery

 

Long ago, in a village in Sekigane, there lived a man named Yahei. As Yahei loved birds very much, he owned many kinds of these feathered creatures. One morning, he saw two red-crowned cranes flying over. He quickly ran after them as he believed the birds would lead him to their nest. 

 

When Yahei finally found the cranes, he quietly observed them. The birds were repeatedly climbing up to a rocky stretch and then climbing back down to the other side. As he approached the birds a little more, he heard the sound of bubbling water and surprisingly found a hot spring! He then realized that the birds were treating their injured legs by dipping them in the water. On seeing this, Yahei hurried back to his village to inform everyone. 

 

When Sekigane became a lodging town, it was loved by travelers as it was considered a place to rejuvenate tired muscles.

关金温泉自发现以来已有1300年的悠久历史。曾经是驿站村镇的缘故，南来北往的人

 

们在温泉里休息身体，消除旅途的疲乏。据说只要泡过一次此温泉，就难以舍得离去，并且泉质保持至今。这透明的泉水被称为“白金之汤”。

   

美容当然就不用说了，而且泉水还含有氡，通过“放射线效果”（即经过呼吸将氡由肺渗透到全身），对预防、治疗成人病，维持健康有益。平成23年（2011年 ）被选为“日本名泉100选”之一。

   

还设有温泉一日游（当天去当天回 ）的温泉设施、足汤（泡脚温泉）等。对每天都过着繁忙生活的我们，提供了“想起即可去泡的温泉”的机会。

   

关于发现关金温泉，在关金有诸多传说。

   

传说  是由丹顶鹤发现的

   

古时候，在关金的村落，有一位喜欢鸟的叫弥兵卫的男子。因为弥兵卫非常喜欢鸟，所以他饲养了各种各样的鸟。有一天早上，他发现天上飞着两只丹顶鹤，他想一定在什么地方有丹顶鹤的巢，于是就追了过去。

   

好不容易找到了两只丹顶鹤，他就悄悄地张望。只见，两只丹顶鹤一会儿飞回岩石场地，一会儿又飞去岩石场地的对面，并且不停地来回飞着。弥兵卫再走近一看，发现有发出咕嘟咕嘟声的泉水涌着出来。那丹顶鹤正在把好像伤了的脚浸泡在泉水里疗伤似的。

   

急急忙忙跑回村子的弥兵卫，把看到的事告诉了村里的人们。

   

关金不仅作为驿站成为南来北往的人们的消除疲劳之地而众所周知，并且关金温泉也被大家所喜爱。
